The thirty-two beneficiaries will receive loans from the credit committee to mass produce and sell local foodstuffs such as rice, corn, potato and cassava for home consumption and marketing. Loans will be repaid in four months at 1% interest per month. Each woman will receive a loan of $122, and repay a total of $127. Each woman will earn a monthly gross income of $615. From this, $235 will be used to maintain and expand the business, $105 will be income and $100 will be saved.
From Harold Johnson's site visit report, “This program is in a beautiful village. The women are very active and walk miles to do farm work. They have harvested their rice and have planted cassava, corn, and some vegetables. They have put their efforts to see that they improve their status.”
