Many women members of microfinance groups no longer believe they should be dependent or that they should remain confined to the home. They are more likely to send their daughters to school. Through their involvement in microfinance, many women become leaders, instigating change in social practices and relationships and mobilizing social action.
Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR) is a program of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) supporting grassroots projects for economic development and offering educational materials for the study of the lives of the poor, the lives of the rich, and the spiritual meaning of both.
